The V-12 model is made from a combination of eco-friendly and durable materials.These Veja V-12 have an upper made of B-mesh. The V logo on the side is made of suede. The inner lining is made of jersey (33% organic cotton & 67% recycled polyester) and the outsole is made of wild rubber from the Amazon rainforest (24%). These Veja sneakers are made in Brazil, in the Porto Alegre region. The B-mesh is made from 100% recycled polyester, which comes from recycled plastic bottles that are turned into flakes and then into fibres in a Brazilian factory. It takes 3 plastic bottles to make one pair of VEJA. B-Mesh is a lightweight, breathable and waterproof fabric.The leather and suede come from farms in Rio Grande do Sul. It is tanned in Brazil according to REACH standards. The use of water is justified during the tanning process. The tanneries that supply VEJA leather are L.W.G. Gold certified by the Leather Working Group, which promotes sustainable practices that have a positive impact on the environment in tanneries.
